I have an adorable ball of fuzz. I’m so excited. It’s only in the last couple weeks I’ve felt like I’ve completed the grieving process with Sparkler. I loved her so much. But, I knew I didn’t want another guinea pig. I knew I wanted a cat. Now, you have to understand, Korea is not a cat country. No serious. It’s really not. I went to a dozen places before I found one with a cat for sale. And dear lord was she expensive. But she was totally worth every won I spent. She’s been in my life less than 12 hours and I can’t imagine living without her.
Right now, she’s curled up in (on?) one of my shoes. Once I coaxed her out from under the bed, she started to play. She has one of those mice on an elastic string tied to a stick. She loves it. She was going crazy. She’s purrs like no cat I’ve ever heard before.
I’m still working on the name thing. I know her Korean name will either be 눈(noon) which means snow (and eye) or 구름(goorum) which means cloud. I’m sort of leaning toward 눈. I’m just not sure what English name to give her. I’ll take suggestions. You’ve helped me name animals in the past.
So here are some pics of my new baby.
Oh she’s just adorable!
I’m bad at the whole naming thing, my previous cats have been called Phoebe, Billie [girl], Buffy, Sammie [girl], Danny [boy] and Alex [girl]. And it was difficult naming them already!
Apparently cats react a lot more if their name contains an i or e or y sound in them which is why I renamed Alex to Alexy or Lexy and she listened a bit more. She was quite stubborn though, so it might have just been that!
But yes, so gorgeous!
Aww she is just SO cute. A new addition to the family always lifts the mood doesn’t it?
My kitty’s called Lucien. It took us a long time to decide on that. I think the name for cloud is a good one :)
She’s very sweet! I like Snow and Cloud as names. Or Snowcloud.
she looks like a fuzzball to me. :D anyway yes she is very adorable. i love cute-looking pets. they’re like babies, except easier once you get them house-trained! why not a dog though, since you are in a dog country? curious.
Heh. Her nickname (vs her name vs her Korean name) has become fuzzbutt.
Last night I was leaning toward Opal as a name, but it doesn’t seem to fit. Ivory is definitely the top contender right now. Bailey is good too.
What a beauty. I’m so happy I dropped by before I went to bed. What a smile I have right now. She’s beautiful.
I call Gracie fuzzybutt. I also call her butthead which is a term of endearment when speaking about my fur babies.
How did you find a cat toy in a country with few cat lovers?
Oh my goodness what a beauty.
Austin
I’ve decided on Ivory as her name. Her Korean name is definitely 눈. She does get called FuzzButt quite often, though.
She is an absolute angel. She’s unlike any other cat I’ve owned or known. The vet thinks she’s between 2 and 3 months. She’s most likely an Angora. Reading the Wikipedia article, the behavioral description fits her totally.
I thought she was going to spend the evening sulking under the bed since I shoved her in her carrier and took her to the vet (only nail trimming and the flea stuff that goes on the back). But no. She’s been tearing around the apartment and alternating that with sleeping on my feet.
I really need to sweep under my bed as she brings out more and more dust bunnies every time.
What a darling!
I like Snowcloud too, but “fuzzbutt” make me laugh. I used to have a boycat who actually answered to “fuzznuts.”
I hope you have many wonderful years together. And not too many coughed-up hairballs…
I thought about you last night when I was snuggled in bed with a cat on my hip and one on my head. :-)
It’s so cool to know you’ve got a sweety there with you.
