Child Abuse, My story, Poetry

No More She Cries

Over and over,
Sent to bed without dinner
“Is this what you want?”
“No more!” she cries…

Again and again,
Their screams invade the quiet
“Is this what you want?”
“No more!” she cries…

Once, twice, thrice,
The belt comes crashing down
“Is this what you want?”
“No more!” she cries…

The punishment is gone
The screaming is gone
The belt is gone
Yet, they live on in her memories
“No more” she cries…

  1. Gracious, that is quite the poem. I can tell our history, our experiences have come too close in common for comfort.

  2. I can only echo those comments above. But I’ll add that you have a talent for writing moving pieces…poetry or posts.
