The Edge

The Edge

Standing on that bridge
Thoughts tumble through her mind

Take that last step?
Plunge into the abyss?

An end to the darkness
An end to the pain

She turns around
And sees a distant light

She turns back to the edge
Looks down

Standing on that bridge
Those thoughts run through her mind

About katm

I'm just your typical depressed donkey. I'm an abuse survivor. I deal with the pain and stiffness and other fun stuff that goes with fibromyalgia. I used to teach English for a living but because of my health, that isn't any option anymore. I love to cook and feel most in my element when I'm in the kitchen tinkering around.

  1. I found a link to your blog from Experimantal Chimp’s blogroll. I was curious…I am interested in people. I read your poem – it is beautiful, yet so sad. So tempting to jump, whether metaphorically or in reality, when in so much pain. Memories that hurt, feelings that hurt, unable to cope with any more pain. But you sound like you are strong from the little that you have already written and if you get through this, you will be able to help another person or more, who have had similar pain in their lives. Have you written any other poetry? Would you be willing to share it? being able to write poetry is a wonderful gift.
